The ambition shared by the developer - Oppidea and Toulouse Métropole - in the dynamics of a strong political will and according to the reflections of the City of Balma's Agenda 21 is to create, far from a showcase district displaying its environmental performance, a real model in terms of governance and transversality in the project's methodology, as much in terms of social mix and linkage as in terms of economic equilibrium and ecological issues, by raising the general public's awareness of practices related to sustainable development. In addition to the desire to encourage and develop research and innovation at all levels, the objective is to encourage the inhabitants to change, to make them aware of the environment on a daily basis.

The project unfolds around an interior square in the heart of the block in order to create a space for sharing; the elderly can find themselves in an intermediary place, between private and public space. The facades and common areas are designed as breathing spaces. The building is developed on the basis of a square, one of whose vertices remains open, allowing the garden to escape from its enclosure. A set of panels on the facade offers staggered outdoor spaces, which gives the building a noble status that establishes it as an urban entity, thus going beyond the vision of a building of report.
