The geographical position of Toulouse-Blagnac airport is central in the southern part of Europe, close to Spain, situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, and its link with Toulouse's industrial know-how makes it a reference. Toulouse-Blagnac airport's ambition is to become a HUB and to develop low-cost flights, which help to structure the solidity of airports. The airport's connecting platforms ensure rapid and guaranteed connections. The development of the Toulouse-Blagnac airport area, the creation of the MEET (Toulouse Metropole Exhibition and Convention Centre), as well as the Aeroscopia area with its museum and the Pinot Farm, are proof of this.

The main challenge is to build a façade that relieves the current airport of its patchwork construction due to successive enlargement and multiple extension programmes. The low-cost pier has the particularity of creating passenger access to the aircraft without the need for shuttles. This typology allows for a quick and inexpensive organisation of flights. It is within this framework that the programme is structured in the continuity of the existing airport, giving it a sober façade that accentuates the extension and the link with the existing.
